Youth for an Enabling Society
Youth for an Enabling Society (YES) is designed to equip and encourage young people in Egypt – and beyond – to invest themselves in their local communities and wider society, and “ be the change that they want to see ” .

About the project
The five-year project will bring together youth aged 18-24 to explore themes of diversity, personal responsibility, and creative self-expression. Its three main goals are:
- To help young people in the MENA live well together despite their differences.
- To encourage and equip them to take responsibility for shaping their societies.
- To support them in working towards the common good and building a better future for everyone.
“Youth are feeling desperate and disappointed, and they have every right to do so. They are in a situation that is really disabling, living in disabling societies. Society has to enable them, but also they can be the change that they want to see. We wanted to start by suggesting areas where they can see the challenge, but where they can also say, ‘Here we can make a little difference.’”
– George Makeen, SAT-7’s Ministry Content Adviser.
