World Refugee Day: the MENA region
In recent weeks we have all been shocked and saddened by media reports of the violence in Sudan and the desperate plight of its citizens. Since April, more than 250,000 people have fled from the fighting into neighbouring countries, alongside nearly two million who are internally displaced. Many of them are in desperate need, lacking even basic food supplies, or have found themselves unwelcome in their host countries.

Middle Eastern families on the move
Middle Eastern families are emigrating in large numbers. The reasons are different for each family: some are forced out of their home countries by persecution or conflict, while others are pulled to new locations by better social and economic opportunities. What is common among them, though, is the struggle to integrate into their new surroundings.

Iranian and Afghan families share their thoughts on emigration
It can be hard to understand exactly what it means and how it feels for Middle Eastern families who are forced to relocate. There is no substitute for hearing first-hand accounts, of course, which is why we have compiled the stories of some SAT-7 PARS viewers who have emigrated. We hope these testimonies will inform your prayers, strengthen your faith, and increase your compassion for migrants.

Praying with Middle Eastern Fathers
Christian fathers in the Middle East are beset on all sides. Persecution, social and cultural pressures, fragile economies, and conflict or post-conflict societies are making Christlike parenting intensely difficult. Despite this, SAT-7 continues to receive inspiring messages from faithful fathers who are doing all they can to help raise their children in a godly way. Will you pray for them this Father’s Day?

Arab men see their value in God's eyes
In the Middle East Father’s Day tends to go by mostly unnoticed, in sharp contrast to Mother’s Day. The culture tends to see emotional expression as feminine, leaving most men without space or permission to explore their feelings and develop emotional maturity. This affects men’s ability to serve as fathers with a healthy understanding of masculinity and manhood.

Afghanistan: a major response to a major crisis
The crisis in Afghanistan is so widespread and has escalated so rapidly that it is scarcely believable. Economically, the country is on its knees, with an extra 15 million Afghans pushed into poverty since 2020. [1] Socially, there is intense pressure on vulnerable groups, with women “systematically being erased from all areas of public life” [2] and non-Muslims experiencing “continued harassment, repression, and violence”. [3] SAT-7, seeking to make God’s love visible in the region, has stepped up its programming for Afghans in recent months.
